U.S. Marshals Take Down 3 Wanted Suspects in Cleveland and Akron in One Day

Cleveland, OH – Early yesterday, members of the U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested 22-year-old Devin Terrell Robinson, who was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

On February 6, Cleveland Police responded to a report of a male victim who had been stabbed near West 94th St. and Denison Ave. Upon arrival, officers found the victim and attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim, 31-year-old Tyrell Small, died from his injuries.

Authorities issued a warrant for Robinson on February 13, prompting NOVFTF investigators to begin their search. Yesterday, members of the Cleveland and Painesville divisions of the task force tracked Robinson to a residence in the 3900 block of Mount Herman Ave. in Cleveland. While searching the home, officers located and arrested Robinson. They also arrested 28-year-old Joshamee Transou, who was initially wanted by the Painesville Police Department for felonious assault. Those charges were later upgraded to attempted murder following a 2023 shooting.

In addition to the Cleveland arrests, the Akron Division of the NOVFTF arrested 39-year-old Philip Mayfield this morning. Mayfield was wanted by the Akron Police Department for homicide. Authorities allege that he ran over a male victim with his vehicle. The incident occurred on March 18, and while Mayfield was initially charged with felonious assault, the charges were later upgraded to include homicide after the victim died days later. Officers arrested Mayfield without incident in the 700 block of Hazel St. in Akron.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Three violent suspects have been arrested in 24 hours by members of our task force. These three fugitives caused havoc in our communities and will now face the charges against them, hopefully ensuring justice for each of the victims in their cases.”
