Surveillance footage captured a chilling and seemingly random late-night attack in Ohio, where a knife-wielding man allegedly told a homeowner he planned to kill him “in the name of Allah.”
The disturbing incident unfolded in the early hours of Easter Sunday morning in Warren County. It began when the suspect appeared to pray in the family’s driveway before repeatedly approaching the home, causing concern for a father who eventually stepped outside.
Authorities later identified the suspect as 23-year-old Anthony Long, who was taken into custody and charged soon after the incident, FOX 19 Now reported.
Tiffany Miller, the family’s mother, took to social media on Monday to recount the terrifying ordeal, calling it a “deeply frightening and dangerous situation” that could have easily turned deadly.
The incident began when the suspect allegedly pulled into the family’s driveway with his headlights turned off, Miller said.
Surveillance video from the home then appeared to show the man kneeling in the driveway and praying before moving toward the house.
Long initially knocked on the front door but got no response as the family was asleep, Miller said.
Moments later, he came back and began pounding on the door even more forcefully in a second, more aggressive attempt.
Miller said the family woke up thinking their daughter had returned home, but were stunned to find a stranger standing at their door in the middle of the night.
