A woman was detained on drug charges after being discovered sleeping in her car in the parking lot of a swimming pool in The Villages.
At 7:15 a.m. Thursday, a deputy arrived to the community pool in the Village of Belvedere to investigate a suspicious car in the parking lot, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He announced himself and awoke 44-year-old Trisha Marie Sallee, who said she had pulled over to rest.
Sallee then opened the door to talk with the deputy, at which point a pair of glasses struck the car’s floorboard, according to the report. The deputy looked down and saw that a baggie containing a green and brown material had fallen along with the spectacles. When asked what was in the baggie, Sallee said “Katie.”
She was then handcuffed and jailed for further investigation. A further examination of the baggie revealed synthetic cannabis, according to the report.
Sallee was arrested on a charge of possessing synthetic cannabis. The Indiana native was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting a $2,500 bond.
