A late-night police pursuit that started in Prince George’s County crossed into Washington, D.C. early Monday, resulting in the arrest of five people and the recovery of numerous firearms.

The incident began at 1:10 a.m. on September 8, when Seat Pleasant police discovered a vehicle near Central Avenue and Addison Road that had been reported carjacked and was wanted in connection with other robberies. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, resulting in a chase through Northeast Washington.

The pursuit ended around Lane Place and Lee Street NE, where the suspects—one adult and four juveniles—abandoned the automobile and attempted to flee. All five were caught with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Federal Task Force.

Each was charged with unlawful use of a vehicle. Police said more charges are likely after detectives discovered other guns at the scene.

Authorities have not revealed the ages of the minors involved.
