Man Detained Outside Of Joint Base Anacostia-bolling With Unregistered Gun, Ammo

A man was detained outside a military base for attempting to enter from the main gate with an unlicensed handgun and ammo.

The man approached the Arnold Gate at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) around 2:21 p.m. on Wednesday, according to base officials. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the man went from Kansas to Washington, DC.

According to MPD officials, the suspect was carrying an unregistered weapon, ammo, four pill bottles containing the restricted substance hydrocodone (one of which was empty), and a “large sum” of money in his automobile.

According to MPD officials, the individual did not have a license to carry a gun.

He is charged with firearm and narcotics violations, according to MPD police.
