A Fruitland Park man was taken into custody for driving without a license after being stopped at Circle K in an uninsured car.
At 11 a.m. Wednesday, law officers saw an uninsured white Honda going eastbound on State Road 44 at County Road 44A, according to a report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Both registered owners, including 22-year-old Aidan James Delvecchio, lacked valid driver’s licenses.
A deputy identified the vehicle and stopped it in the parking lot of Circle K, which is situated at 1001 S. Main St. in Wildwood. Delvecchio admitted to not having a license, which dispatch confirmed, according to the report.
The New York native was detained on charges of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and issued a penalty for failure to provide evidence of insurance. He was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center and freed after posting a $150 bond.
