Woman Detained With Meth In Purse After Pulling Out Of Wawa Parking Lot

A woman was detained with methamphetamine in her purse after pulling out of a Wawa parking lot.

Chelsea Lee Breeden, 40, of Summerfield, was driving a black 2010 Honda Civic when she left the Wawa parking lot at U.S. 301 and County Road 466 in Oxford around 11 p.m. Thursday, when an officer noticed the vehicle had a defective tag light, according to a Wildwood Police Department arrest report.

During a traffic stop, the officer asked Breeden whether she had anything in her car that could cause a K-9 to alert on the vehicle.

“No, I don’t think so,” she told the officer.

Taz, a police dog, alerted on Breeden’s automobile, triggering a search. When her purse was searched, a material tested positive for methamphetamine.

She was arrested on felony methamphetamine charges. She was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting a $2,500 bond.
