Wauwatosa police are searching for a suspect who broke into an apartment and shot two individuals in an apparent targeted attack early Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m., near 61st and State.

According to police, an initial investigation shows that someone forced their way into the flat and shot two adult men. A third person was injured while attempting to flee the area.

Two people were shot during a ‘targeted’ Wauwatosa apartment break-in, according to police. All three victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive their injuries.

While evidence is sparse, authorities say preliminary findings indicate that the shooting was a targeted attack rather than a random act of violence.

There have been no arrests made. Police are still looking for the culprit and are requesting anyone with information to call the Wauwatosa Police Department Investigative Division at 414-471-8430.
