Over the weekend, St. Louis Metropolitan Police conducted an enforcement sweep aimed at illegal minibike activity around North 13th Street and Cass Avenue, resulting in numerous tickets and vehicle seizures.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Mobile Reserve officers discovered multiple minibikes operating illegally on public roadways. Six motorcyclists were seized, cited, and their minibikes confiscated.
The department emphasized its ongoing zero-tolerance policy toward illegal street riding, reminding residents: “Use it, lose it.” Police have previously warned that minibikes, dirt bikes, and ATVs are not permitted for street use under city ordinances, citing safety risks to both riders and pedestrians.
This current enforcement action is part of a larger city effort to decrease illicit vehicle activity and improve public safety in high-traffic areas of downtown St. Louis. There were no injuries recorded during the procedure.
Residents are encouraged to contact the non-emergency line of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department if they witness illegal street riding or other traffic concerns.
