Fatality in single vehicle crash in Gallia County

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio – One man has died following a crash Oct. 17, 2017 on State Route 554.

According to the Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened about 8:33 p.m. One vehicle was involved, a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Charles E. Broyles III, 38, of Dayton, Ohio. Broyles was traveling east on State Route 554 when he drove off the left side of the roadway striking an embankment. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Broyles was not wearing a seat belt and was impaired.

The roadway was closed for about five hours.
