The owner of a Morgantown construction company who made unlawful hires and falsified tax documents has been sentenced to prison, federal officials said.
According to a news release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia, Hetzon Marroquin Reyes, 41, has been sentenced to two years in prison for tax fraud and employment of illegal aliens.
According to the news release, Reyes, the owner and operator of A&M Homes, “hired and harbored illegal workers.”
According to the announcement, Reyes presented Division of Labor inspectors with bogus papers for his employees and completed tax forms using other people’s Social Security numbers.
Prosecutors highlighted that Reyes is a Guatemalan resident on a temporary visa.
