Two people were taken into custody Saturday night after officers witnessed fireworks and reckless driving, leading to a pursuit, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Around 11:30 p.m., SPD officers saw a car driving recklessly in an area where fireworks were being launched, near Florin Perkins Road and Fruitridge Road.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver escaped at high speed, resulting in a pursuit.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and the occupants, two adults and a 15-year-old, escaped on foot, according to authorities.
All three were discovered and detained.
According to investigators, the inquiry turned up a big amount of marijuana in the automobile.
The driver was detained on counts of pursuit and child endangerment.
The other adult was detained on allegations of drug possession.
