A man who barricaded himself inside a sports goods store in Norwalk early Thursday was apprehended following a several-hour confrontation.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred about 3:07 a.m. at Turner’s Outdoorsman on the 11300 block of Firestone Boulevard.
According to deputies, the man entered the business through the roof and climbed through an air conditioning unit before entering.
Because of the nature of the merchandise stored in the business, the department’s Special Enforcement Bureau was dispatched, along with crisis negotiators who attempted to communicate with the barricaded suspect.
According to Sky5 reporter Rich Pickett, the suspect was arrested without incident after almost seven hours.
The suspect’s identity and circumstances of the break-in remain unknown.
