Search Warrant Execution Results in Two Arrests
MIDDLEPORT, Ohio – Suspected drugs have been seized following the execution of a search warrant in Middeleport along with two people being taken into custody.
According to Middleport Police Chief Bruce Swift, his department along with the assistance of the Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs and Meigs County Prosecuting Attorney James Stanley, served a search warrant in the evening of April 15, 2018 at a residence on South Second Avenue.
After securing the residence, officers completed a search of the premises. According to a statement from Chief Swift, “several items of contraband were seized which included suspected heroin, cocaine, and marijuana along with pills and $443 in cash.”
Arrested were Hollie Dugan, 31, of Middleport and Shyla Jarrell, 30, of Racine. Both have been charged with trafficking drugs and possession of drugs. They are incarcerated at the Middleport Jail awaiting arraignment.
The Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs is a state task force under the jurisdiction of the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission which is part of the Ohio Attorney General Office. The task force was formed in September 2013 and consists of the Meigs and Gallia County Sheriff Offices, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the Middleport and Gallipolis Police Departments and both the Meigs and Gallia County Prosecutors Offices.
