Hello, this is Tim Ihle your Meigs County Commissioner and candidate for your Republican nomination in the May 8th primary election.
Eight years ago, I introduced to you (Meigs County) my desire to serve you as county commissioner. I presented a biography in letter to enumerate my qualifications: my construction business, convenient store, sales and management background, involvement in the church and conservation organizations. These are all experiences in life that prepared me to step up to this task.
Four years went by and I presented another letter requesting your vote for re-election. In that letter, I made this comment, “ After winning the 2010 general election I took office January 1st, 2011. It was evident from the very first Commissioner meeting I attended that the County was in trouble financially. Significant bills were being carried over from the previous year and there were more current bills than money available to pay. Drastic steps had to be implemented just to meet the challenges of paying daily bills and making payroll. We made crucial decisions that after just a couple years has made the county financially solvent. We are now in a position not only to adequately meet our needs but to make capital improvements and realistically plan for the future of Meigs County”. Do you remember hearing of this in the newspapers?
Now four years later, I am running for re-election and the accomplishments of our current team are worth noting. Just to highlight a few of our projects, we built the new Bob Byer EMA, EMS, and 911 center, the Med Flight heliport, and the Canine Rescue & Adoption Center. We have painted our historic court house, upgraded the windows and remodeled most of the interior. As well as, a new more modern location for Meigs Soil and Water, the Board of Elections and The Ohio State University Extension Office. Can you not see a difference? We have secured the money and are almost ready to start the major rehab of the Rutland sewer. We are in regular communication with your legislators in Columbus and Washington D.C. about issues important to Meigs County. Can you not see a difference?
Let me close with my same closing of the letter from 2014.
“We are seeing great things in Meigs County, evidence of a good team working together. I am asking for your vote once again to keep the vision alive. This is not just a vote for Tim Ihle, but an affirmation of the work we have done and the work we plan to do.”
Thanks for your consideration,
Tim Ihle
