Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspicious Death
RACINE, Ohio – The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death.
According to Sheriff Keith Wood, they have been investigating the circumstances and the death of a 28-year-old male. The man was dropped off at the Racine station of the Meigs EMS unresponsive at 12:29 a.m. May 20, 2018. The man was transported to the Holzer Meigs Emergency Room where, despite efforts by medical staff, was pronounced dead.
Sheriff Wood said the body has been sent to Montgomery County for an autopsy. He did not say it was a homocide investigation, but the circumstances around the man’s death and him being dropped at the EMS Station are being investigated. He also said the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been contacted in the matter as well.
