A man from Maryland who snarled during a Luzerne County law enforcement undercover child sex probe has been sentenced to up to two years in prison.
Judge David W. Lupas of the Luzerne County Court of Common Please sentence Jeffrey Lynn Heath, 53, of Ellicott City, to one to two years in the county correctional facility on charges of criminal attempt to commit statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and criminal use of communications facilities. Heath pleaded guilty to the charges on November 12.
Heath was arrested in April 2025 after investigators from the Luzerne County district attorney’s office and Kingston Township police discovered that he sought a child for sex.
According to court papers, Heath was carrying condoms at the time of his arrest.
Heath was sentenced to three years probation after being released from jail, and he is required to register with the state’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act for the rest of his life.
