A two-day law enforcement operation resulted in the arrest of over 30 people, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities claimed the operation, called “Operation Spring Cleaning,” began on Friday, March 6, and targeted high-crime areas throughout the county.
More than 43 officers from several agencies took part in the operation, including the sheriff’s Special Operations Bureau, Criminal Investigations, Aviation Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Criminal Enforcement Unit, Narcotics Bureau, and Uniform Patrol. The City of Florence Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division also provided assistance.
The sheriff’s office reported that the operation resulted in 33 arrests for illegal substances, gun crimes, stolen vehicles, and driving under the influence. Deputies also apprehended 12 other wanted criminals throughout the operation.
Officials stated that the operation included four vehicle pursuits, the seizure of three stolen vehicles, and the issuance of 52 tickets.
