Israel Lee Phillips

Israel Lee Phillips, 37, entered this life on November 29, 1980, born in Gallipolis. Israel left this Earth on July 14, 2018, at his residence.

He is survived by his Mother, Rebecca (Anthony) McGrath of Rutland, and Father, Terry (Crystal) Jewell of Albany; his four children, a son Alexander, and daughters Kaylee, Pyper, and Ireland; three brothers, Bradley (Amber) McGrath; JR (Peyton) Jewell; and Dakota Jewell; sisters Holly (Kevin) McGrath and Destiny Jewell; step-brothers Lee Rittgers and Travis Siders; step-sisters Tara Wooten and Misty Murphy; his beloved “Granny”, Barbara Phillips, with whom he resided, and several nieces and nephews. Israel shared a special bond with all of his family, and specifically Paige Dill, Josh Kauff and Tesla Kauff.

He was preceded in death by, and shared a close bond with, his grandfather, Cornelius ‘Butch’ Phillips.

Israel was a kind and generous soul, whose favorite interests included fishing, mud-running, and cruising on his Harley Davidson. Israel had a passion for the outdoors and was a natural at landscaping. He was gifted with artistic talents, such as sketching, designing and administering tattoos, and was musically inclined with the guitar.

Israel was a lifelong resident of Meigs County and attended Meigs High School. He was most recently employed by Bryant Farm & Lawn, LLC; and prior to that was a towing and recovery operator for Riverside Auto & Towing LLC.

His true loves in this life were his children, whom he adored. By knowing that when we truly love, we are never lost, our loved ones become more a part of us in death, than was ever possible in this life. Israel Lee Phillips will shine forever through the eyes of his children.

Services will be held at the Birchfield Funeral Home in Rutland Ohio; viewing hours are 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18 and funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 19.
