David Perry Nida, 65
David Perry Nida, 65, Rio Grande, passed away unexpectedly at 9:50 A.M. Monday, March 10, 2014, in the Emergency Department at the Holzer Medical Center.
Born October 8, 1948 in Scott Depot, West Virginia he was the son of the late James Herbert and Mary Marie Johnson Nida. He was retired from the Stauffer Chemical Company in Gallipolis Ferry, WV and, along with his wife, Mary, were owners and operators of the Giovanni’s Pizza in Rio Grande for over 19 years. David was an avid fisherman.
He married Mary Stover on April 3, 1965 in Porter, Ohio and she survives as does three children, David Nida, Rio Grande, Mary (Glen) Osborne, Canal Winchester, Ohio and Dianna Nida, Amanda, Ohio, grandchildren, Scott (Tisha) Nida, Adam Thompson, Carie Thompson, Narissa Nida, Shakra, Jade, Peggy and Jake, great-grandchildren, Kayla Thompson, Trenten Nida, Colbie Nida, Braylan Laudermilk, Colton Nida, Paris, Libby, Keyton, Bailey and Jazmine.
Also surviving are sisters, Connie Woodyard, Culloden, WV and Virginia Summers, Buffalo, WV, Bonnie Harper, of West Virginia and Rebekha (Lester) Stover, Vinton and a brother, Jimmy (Kay) Nida, Addison.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Marilyn Kay Nida, Beulah Mae Barker and Kathy Nida.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 14, 2014, in the Nida Family Cemetery on the family farm near Rio Grande. Officiating will be Chris Nida. Friends may call from 5 – 8 P.M. Thursday at the Cremeens Funeral Chapel.
