Bobby Lavigne, 23, was the man shot and killed in New Orleans East last week, according to the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office.
Officers from the New Orleans Police Department stated they discovered Lavigne and another victim wounded on the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Highway at approximately 10:40 p.m. on March 11. Paramedics took both victims to the hospital, where Lavigne died. Police said the other victim sustained a graze wound.
The coroner verified on Monday that Lavigne died from a gunshot wound. On Monday evening, police announced the arrest of Amondo McDonald, 20, in connection with the killing. McDonald was put into the Orleans Parish jail on a charge of second-degree murder, according to authorities.
