First Girls Night Out Pomeroy event set for Aug. 9, 2018
POMEROY, Ohio – A new event is coming to Main Street which organizers hope will promote buying local while creating a fun event for friends to enjoy together.
The second Thursday of the month is being designated as “Girls Night Out” with each night having a special theme. The first in the series is scheduled for Aug. 9, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. with downtown merchants including but not limited to Front Paige Outfitters, Hartwell House, Weaving Stitches, Chapman Shoes, Tuckerman’s Too, Fabric Shop, Divine Notions, Clark’s Jewelry, and Crystal’s on Main. Each store will be doing their own events including store specials, snacks, door prizes and more.
The Pomeroy Merchants Association is spearheading the effort to promote a shop local event that is fun and in the spirit of “First Fridays” that many communities have begun. With the Girls Night Out, the later hours make the shops more available to customers as well.
Shoppers are encouraged to also check out the Court Street Grill, Maple Lawn Brewery and the Wild Horse Cafe.
The first themed Girls Night Out is set for Sept. 13, 2018 with the theme of “Tiaras and Tailgates.” On Oct. 11, the theme will be “Witches Night Out.”
Other shopping dates to note include the Mystery Harvest Shop Hop held Oct. 3-6. The Meigs High School Reunion on the River celebration is set for Oct. 5-6. The popular annual Holiday Open House will be Nov. 5. Small Business Saturday is Nov. 24 and the Christmas Parade and Open House is Nov 25.
The Sternwheel Festival will also be returning to downtown Pomeroy Sept. 20-22.
