2 Men Charged With Armed Robbery Following Stealing Carpet At Gunpoint In Waldorf

Charles County Sheriff’s investigators have arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that took place on March 10 in the 3000 block of Gallery Place in Waldorf. In that case, the victim was in the middle of putting down carpet when he noticed two males take a portion of carpet outside the apartment.

The victim confronted the subjects, who flashed a handgun and stole the carpet. The suspects escaped, and the victim phoned the police. Detectives began an investigation and found two suspects.

On March 19, patrol police identified and apprehended the suspects. A search warrant was obtained for the suspects’ homes, and the stolen carpet and other evidence were discovered. David Jerome Ransome, 56, and Bryant Lee Lyles, 56, both from Waldorf, were charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.

They are currently at the Charles County Detention Center, where they will appear before a district court commissioner for a bond review.
