Two workers were shot on Tuesday afternoon in a Winter Park neighborhood during a fight with suspects accused of attempting to steal tools, according to police and a witness.
The event happened on Overlook Road, south of State Road 426. According to authorities, the victims were part of a window construction crew working at a residence when a car approached and suspects attempted to steal their supplies.
According to Javier Riano, a company employee, the workers challenged the suspects, which resulted in gunfire and the shooting of two workers.
Winter Park police reported that they transported both victims to the hospital, but they did not disclose the severity of their injuries.
According to police, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, resulting in a pursuit that ended at Lake Mary. Authorities revealed that two individuals are currently in custody.
Authorities are still conducting the inquiry and have yet to reveal more information.
