Body discovered in shed fire identified months later

Authorities have identified a man whose body was found in a shed fire in Akron many months ago.

Officials identified the dead as Joseph Gilbert Coronado, a 36-year-old guy. The Summit County Medical Examiner told FOX 8 that DNA tests confirmed the identification.

According to a media release, local fire crews responded to a reported fire at 1130 S. Arlington Street soon before 10 a.m. on Sunday, December 6.

When crews arrived, they discovered a fully involved shed fire in the parking lot behind a vacant building.

The announcement stated that after extinguishing the fire, firefighters found a body inside the shed.

According to the inquiry, Coronado died as a result of heat and inhalational injuries. The mode of death was judged accidental.
