Florida sheriff deputy apprehended on multiple charges in Ocean Springs

A Florida sheriff’s deputy was apprehended for DUI and hit and run over the weekend in Ocean Springs.

Jessica Harrison is a deputy for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Ocean Springs Police Chief Steve Dye, she was arrested Sunday night after hitting a city sign in her unmarked patrol cruiser on Porter Avenue and leaving the scene.

Police later stopped her on Front Beach and arrested her on the misdemeanor counts.

Dye claims Harrison was on the Mississippi Coast for law enforcement training at the time she was arrested.
