Authorities say they discovered the body of an 18-year-old high school senior who was riding in a truck that was found upside down in the Little Calumet River earlier this week.
Officials believe the body belongs to Rodrigo Montes, who was last seen leaving a group gathering over the weekend.
Montes’ truck was discovered upside down in the lake on Tuesday morning, sparking a large-scale search for the teen as family members looked for answers.
Montes’ body was discovered Thursday during the search, and authorities provided an update to the media shortly afterward.
According to officials, the truck collided with the river early Monday morning.
A suspect is in jail, and charges are pending in the case; however, it is unknown what they will be charged with.
