Police: Two 19-year-olds Shot While Driving On Chicago’s Southwest Side

A 19-year-old man and woman were shot while driving Thursday night on Chicago’s Southwest Side.

The shooting occurred around 9:21 p.m. on the 4800 block of South Kostner Avenue in the Archer Heights area.

According to police, the two victims were inside a vehicle when they heard a loud boom and felt pain. The man was shot in the back, while the woman was injured in the left ankle.

First responders treated both on the scene before transporting them to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

It’s unclear whether the gunfire was random or targeted.

There have been no arrests announced. Area One detectives are conducting an investigation.
