Over 3,000 marijuana plants were seized earlier this month as a result of an investigation into an illegal grow operation, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
As part of the investigation, the Clackamas County Interagency Task Force (CCITF) executed search warrants on Friday, March 13, at two homes: one in the 11100 block of Southeast Lenore Street in Happy Valley and one in the 17100 block of South Holly Lane in Oregon City.
The task force discovered 3,500 marijuana plants blooming in several outbuildings. Investigators also discovered equipment used to manufacture and process marijuana.
The sheriff’s team also recovered more than $100,000 in cash, three guns, and two cars with evidence of bulk marijuana transit from the premises.
According to the sheriff’s office, 60-year-old Joe Zhou was arrested and later placed into jail for unlawful manufacture of marijuana, unlawful production of marijuana, and unlawful possession of marijuana items.
The investigation is underway.
