Darrell Wayne Brewer, 88

Darrell Wayne Brewer, 88, of Middleport, Ohio passed away on October 3, 2018. He was born on July 3, 1930 near Mt. Gilead, Ohio son of the late Wilbert Brewer and Kathryn Schelk Brewer.

Darrell was a graduate of Johnsville High School, Class of 1948 and a long time member of the Bradbury Church of Christ. His life consisted of caring for his family, working construction, and helping others wherever he could.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Perry Pilgrim of Hampton, VA and Stacey and Bryan Walters of Jackson, OH; son-in-law, Attila Nemeth of Mansfield, OH; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a special member of his family, Brian Overeem. He is also survived by three sisters, Maxine Hildebrand, Nancy Long and Ladonna Walker; and two brothers, Larry Brewer and Rollin Brewer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Gayle Nemeth; his son, Jeffrey Brewer and daughter-in-law, Arlah Brewer; great grandson, Logan Patrick Murphy; and brothers, Riley Brewer and Carroll Brewer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Justin Roush officiating at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport. Burial will follow at Bradford Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Saturday from 1-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home in Middleport.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made in Darrell’s memory to a charity of choice.

Darrell’s family would like to thank all family, friends, and caregivers (especially Tim and Edie, Sue and John, and Julia). Ohio Health Home Care Hospice supported Darrell and his family in recent months; and their excellent, compassionate care was a blessing.
