A man was shot and killed Wednesday near a gas station on the city’s South Side.
The shooting took place on West Marquette Road near Englewood and Greater Grand Crossing, according to Chicago police.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, was inside a shop when four armed offenders entered a car and opened fire on him, according to police.
The victim was shot many times and transported to a hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Tyrese Smith, 18, was identified as the victim by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
There was no further information available as Chicago police continued to investigate.
