A person of interest in connection to a missing woman in New Orleans is currently under arrest in Lawrence County, Mississippi.
McArthur Mackey, 42, was identified as a person of interest by New Orleans police after Christine Wiltz, 34, went missing on March 27.
According to the NOPD, Mackey has a documented violent history, and police believe he was reported missing about the same time Wiltz vanished.
According to the NOPD, Wiltz may be at high risk of exploitation or significant physical harm.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office stated that Mackey has been in custody since Friday, April 3, on a hold for New Orleans.
According to NOPD, Wiltz was last seen by Mackey between 3 and 4 a.m. on Friday, March 27. He remains missing.
No other information has been provided at this time.
WDSU has contacted the NOPD for an update on Mackey’s arrest and any additional information on Wiltz’s location.
NOPD issued the following response:
“It is correct that he was detained in Mississippi on a probation hold for a previous charge.
“The NOPD will continue its investigation to discover what part he played in Christine Wiltz’s disappearance. “The investigation is ongoing.”
