A 21-year-old woman was arrested after police say she shot and injured someone on Indianapolis’ near-east side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place around 10 a.m. Saturday near the 3600 block of Dequincy Street. That is near the intersection of 38th Street and Emerson Avenue.
When authorities arrived, they discovered a victim with gunshot wounds. IMPD reported their condition as “awake and breathing.”
Shortly after, IMPD officers detained Chakira Matlock, 21, on the spot. She was later jailed on a preliminary accusation of aggravated violence that caused serious permanent disfigurement.
