A Lady Lake man was detained when an officer saw him operating a golf cart that had previously caused a crash.
An officer saw a golf cart without a tag driving east on Griffin Avenue around 10:50 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. After making a traffic stop, he knew the driver, 35-year-old Jacob Clark, from a previous incident in which he caused a car accident in the same golf cart.
Clark was aware that his driving privileges had been revoked, and he was not permitted to be on the road. A check of his license revealed that it had been terminated on June 9, 2025, for failing to meet some conditions. It was also cancelled indefinitely on October 10, 2025, for failing to complete a traffic-avoidance class and again on February 10, 2026, according to the report.
The Michigan native was arrested and brought into Lake County Jail on a charge of driving while license was cancelled. He was released after paying a $500 bond.
