LAKEWOOD, Ohio – Burglary: Hopkins Avenue: A resident called police at 12:31 p.m. on April 12 to report that someone had broken into his home overnight and stolen eight guns. He believed the intruder had entered through a back window.
Theft: Hopkins Avenue
A woman contacted the police department on April 11 to report that someone had gone through her parked car overnight.
Theft: Newman Avenue
An apartment building resident called police at 12:17 p.m. on April 11 to report that her package had gone missing from the building after being delivered.
OVI: Detroit Avenue
A patrol officer pulled over a vehicle on Detroit Avenue near W. 116th Street at 10:41 p.m. on April 10 and arrested the female driver for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Police had the vehicle towed.
Disorderly conduct: Clifton Boulevard
A caller contacted police at 7:30 p.m. on April 9 to report a suspicious man nodding off at a bus stop on Clifton near Fry Avenue. An officer responded to check on the man and arrested him for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and possession of harmful intoxicants.
Theft, obstructing: W. 117th Street
A manager at the Aldi store on W. 117th Street near Franklin Boulevard called police at 10:27 a.m. on April 8 to report that a man had walked out of the store with two full bags of merchandise without paying. A responding officer located the suspect and arrested him for theft and obstructing, according to a police event report.
DCI: Madison Avenue
Officers responded at 5 p.m. on April 6 to a report of a man passed out behind a building on Madison Avenue near Coutant Avenue. Upon arrival, an officer spotted a man matching the suspect’s description walking eastbound on Madison and arrested him for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and possession of an open container.
Criminal damaging: Detroit Extension
A caller reported to police at 8:11 a.m. on April 5 that someone had smashed the rear window of their parked vehicle overnight.
An officer responded at 3:05 a.m. on April 5 to a report of an SUV with two women parked in a lot on Detroit Avenue near Cordova Avenue. The vehicle had been sitting for about an hour with its lights on. The female in the passenger seat appeared to be passed out, and both women showed signs of intoxication. When one of the women began vomiting, officers called an ambulance. Police cited both women for disorderly conduct while intoxicated, according to a police event report.
