Dayton, Ohio – Montgomery County authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant as deputies work to locate a missing elderly man whose disappearance has raised serious safety concerns. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has identified 73-year-old Jerry Vaughn as a critically missing adult after he failed to return home.
Officials report that Vaughn was last seen on April 23, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m. He left his Washington Township residence on foot before arranging a rideshare. He boarded an Uber and was dropped off near North Wilkinson Street in Dayton. No one has had confirmed contact with him since, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Concern grows due to missing medication
Authorities are expressing heightened concern for Vaughn’s safety because he left without access to essential medication. This detail has elevated the urgency of the case, as time may prove critical to his well-being.
Vaughn is a white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 187 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray polo shirt and gray shorts, and may also have been wearing loafers.
