23 Injured, 10 Government Staff Included, After Bus Collision Near Pentagon

A crash involving buses near the Pentagon injured nearly two dozen people after the vehicles collided.

On Friday, April 24, two buses crashed head-on just before 7:30 a.m., leaving 23 people injured, according to WUSA 9. Video from the scene captured the force of the collision, which was strong enough to push one of the buses backward by several feet.

“At approximately 7:20 a.m. today, an Omni Ride and a Fairfax Connector transit bus collided on the Metro Access Road. Twenty-three passengers were injured. Ten of the twenty-three injured passengers are Department of War personnel,” the Pentagon Force Protection Agency Corporate Communications Office said in a statement obtained by Fox News.

“First responders transported 18 individuals to local hospitals for further medical evaluation and treatment. Five passengers were treated on site and released on their own recognizance,” the statement continued.
