A 58-year-old man from El Paso was shot many times while riding his motorcycle near Midland.
According to a news release from the Midland Police Department, police responded about 8:59 a.m. On Saturday, April 25, there looked to be a crash in the 2500 block of West Loop 250. MPD reported that upon their arrival, they found the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds while riding his motorcycle on the loop.
“The man was transported to Midland Memorial by EMS and later went into surgery,” MPD said. “During the investigation, it was found that the victim is a Mongol OMG member.”
Police said witnesses were identified; an on-call crimes against persons detective took over the investigation; crime scene investigators were alerted; and traffic cops were dispatched to guide traffic on the loop. According to MPD, the individual underwent surgery and is now listed as stable.
