2 dead after crash on I-75 South in Campbell County: THP

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, two people died in a crash on Saturday that caused the Williamsburg Police Department to close a portion of I-75 in Campbell County for many hours.

THP said Jesus Eduardo Silva Silva, 21, and Denise Andrade, 20, were heading south around mile marker 161 in a GMC Sierra when they collided with the back of a tractor-trailer parked on the right side of the road.

TDOT reported the crash about 9 a.m.

There was no one inside the tractor-trailer, and neither victim was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

According to THP, Silva and Andrade were killed in the crash.
