Woman shot, killed in Prince George’s Co. park ID’d as DC woman

Officials have identified the woman who was found shot to death in a Prince George’s County park on Tuesday night and are searching for the killer.

On Wednesday, police identified the victim as Juanita Frazier, 38, of Washington, D.C.

Frazier was discovered shot to death in Oxon Run Community Park on Tuesday, April 28.

Police responded to a 911 call about 10 p.m. Tuesday when a man reported finding Frazier unresponsive in the parking lot.

When cops arrived, they discovered she had multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced her dead on the scene.

On Wednesday, one of Frazier’s childhood friends told FOX 5 DC that her killing was “disturbing.”

According to Dewayne Morris, he and Frazier grew up in the same neighborhood and remember her as nice. “It’s crazy that someone would want to hurt her because she was such a wonderful person, always smiling and wanting people to have fun,” Morris added. “And that’s why I couldn’t even put my hands on her.”

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the killing to identify a suspect and determine the reason. Capt. Gregory Ford stated that the community often solves these crimes by contributing any tiny or significant amount of information.
