An Upstate New York resident won a $1 million Powerball jackpot after matching five numbers in the Feb. 23 drawing.
Jamshed Qodirov of Buffalo won second place in the game after matching the first five numbers chosen but missing the Powerball. He received a lump sum payment of $649,707 after necessary withholdings.
The winning numbers were 5, 11, 23, 29, and 47, with a Powerball number of 6.
Qodirov acquired his winning ticket at Buffalo’s 7-Eleven, located at 2139 Niagara Falls Boulevard.
During fiscal year 2024-2025, the New York Lottery’s Powerball game generated total sales of $327,836,044. Erie County school districts got $223,272,414 in Lottery Aid to Education monies for the same time period.
