A Florida woman was taken into custody after deputies said she was caught on camera kicking and hurling a small dog across a street.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office charged 33-year-old Imania Davis with six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to deputies, a security camera recorded the Tampa woman on the night of April 30 grabbing the small dog by the scruff of its neck and tossing him onto a road inside a mobile home park. When the dog ran back toward her, she allegedly kicked him.
“This dog was only seeking love and attention and affection,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a press conference.
Deputies said she then threw the dog about 10 feet.
The dog survived and received treatment from a veterinarian for a broken leg.
Authorities said they were unsure whether the dog had an owner.
Davis was held on a $75,000 bond.
