A man and a woman from Washington, D.C., are facing charges in Prince George’s County, months after a fatal gunshot.
On Thursday, police detained Orlando Edwards, 20, and India Stroman, 21.
Investigators stated Edwards and Stroman got into a confrontation with Ricardo Lee Vance, 47, on February 3. Police did not specify the nature of the fight, only that the perpetrators and victim were strangers.
Court documents state that Vance was observed following Stroman out of a store. The woman entered the backseat of a black Cadillac Escalade. Police say Edwards was already inside. Vance was seen having an exchange with the folks in the Escalade, which then drove away but stopped at a nearby red light.
According to investigators, Vance then got into a red Nissan Sentra and drew up alongside the Escalade at the light. Officers reported seeing gunfire coming from the backseat of the Escalade, where Edwards and Stroman were sitting. Vance got out of his car and ran but died of his injuries at the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road.
The Escalade then took off.
Officers say they were able to locate both the SUV and the driver. According to court filings, the witness told investigators what transpired the night of the shooting, and Edwards advised him not to contact police and that he would pay for the Escalade’s damages.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that Edwards also performs as a rapper under the name Landough$. Investigators claimed they discovered a music video in which Edwards wore the same clothing he was observed wearing on the night of the shooting.
Edwards and Stroman are both charged with first- and second-degree murder.
Anyone with additional information on the shooting is encouraged to call police at 301-516-2512.
