One Pennsylvania Lottery player is now over $124K richer after a Fast Play ticket purchased at a Philadelphia grocery shop triggered a large progressive jackpot win.
The Pennsylvania Lottery reported that a top-prize-winning Ice Cold Cash or Red Hot Bonus Fast Play ticket worth $124,455 was sold on Wednesday at The Fresh Grocer of Grays Ferry, 3021 Grays Ferry Ave. in Philadelphia.
Lottery authorities said that the grocery store would earn a $500 prize for selling the winning ticket.
Ice Cold Cash or Red Hot Bonus is a $5 Fast Play game with progressive jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until a winning ticket is sold.
Fast Play tickets are printed on demand at lottery terminals and vending machines, and they work similarly to scratch-off games without requiring players to scratch the ticket or wait for a drawing.
Lottery officials encouraged players to sign the back of winning tickets right away and contact the Pennsylvania Lottery to start the claim process.
Winners are not officially announced until the rewards are claimed and authenticated.
