A Dallas County man was taken into custody after being accused of using forged documents to steal three properties from a deceased landowner.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation began when the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Dallas police discovered suspected fraud while investigating illegal dumping on Riverwood Road homes.
Kyle Scott Boyd allegedly faked documents in April 2023 to transfer ownership of the homes from William Thompson to himself, just three weeks before Thompson’s death. Boyd was arrested on July 28 and put into the Dallas County Jail.
He is accused with second-degree criminal forgery involving items valued at more than $30,000 and third-degree felony theft of property valued at more than $30,000.
