A wanted Cleveland man, 32, was apprehended outside India Grocers, 7190 Pearl Road, around 10:30 a.m. on July 21.
A license plate-reading camera alerted authorities to the presence of a U-Haul van stolen in Cleveland Heights and with an Arizona license plate.
The van was going east on Bagley Road, near Interstate 71.
Police discovered the stolen U-Haul parked outside India Grocers. They were watching the van.
After about 15 minutes, a man approached the car and jumped into the U-Haul.
Police used their overhead lights and sirens, preventing the van from leaving. They put the man in handcuffs.
The man informed officers he leased the van and then asked U-Haul for an extension so he could use it longer.
He stated he was unsure whether U-Haul had granted him the extension.
Police then discovered that the man was wanted for stealing the U-Haul van.
