Arizona man taken into custody on child molestation charges after local, Las Vegas cops team up

A cross-border investigation into allegations of child abuse has resulted in the arrest of a man from western Arizona after local deputies worked with Las Vegas authorities to develop their case.

Freddy Ray Pruitt, 64, of Bouse, was arrested on August 5 and charged with two counts of child molestation.

The arrest was made as part of a collaborative operation by the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and Nevada child welfare officials. Detectives worked across state boundaries for weeks to gather evidence and locate the suspect before moving in to make the arrest.

Sheriff’s officials have not revealed information about where the alleged abuse occurred or what prompted the first report, citing the case’s multijurisdictional nature.

Deputies encourage anyone with new information regarding Pruitt or the investigation to call the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office at 928-669-6141 or send a report through their online portal here.
