An Amazon delivery driver died after being discovered dead inside a delivery vehicle in Fruitland Park on Monday evening, although the cause of death is unknown, according to investigators.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the Clark Road area of unincorporated Fruitland Park after receiving a report of an Amazon delivery van running while parked for an extended amount of time.
When deputies arrived, they discovered the female driver unresponsive inside the vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital and eventually confirmed dead, Earley said.
Lake County Fire Rescue Special Operations also responded to the incident. The driver’s name has not been revealed.
Earley said detectives from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau are still investigating the event, and the cause of death is unknown.
