A woman was slain and a man was injured during a gunshot early Sunday, according to authorities.
Police responded to a 911 call shortly after 2:20 a.m. reporting a shooting near Bergen Street and Howard Avenue in Brooklyn. Officers came and discovered two victims.
According to investigators, the shooting occurred when an argument turned violent and someone fired a firearm. Police say it’s unclear whether each person was the intended target.
Police said the woman was shot in the back and transferred to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The individual received a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police said he was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
No arrests have been made, and the inquiry continues.
