One lucky Ohio lottery player has won $1 million. According to an Ohio Lottery press release, the fortunate player won through the VIP Millions Scratch-Off.
The winning ticket was purchased from Schafer Market in Fort Loramie, near the Indiana border.
Alan C. Triggs, Esq., claimed the grand prize on behalf of The Championship Trust. The trust opted for a one-time cash payout of $500,000 rather than an annuity of $40,000 per year for 25 years.
After deducting the required 26.75% tax, The Championship Trust will receive $366,250.
The VIP Millions ticket is a $50 scratch-off that gives Ohioans the best chance to win $1 million in state lottery history. The overall odds of winning are one in four.02. As of August 18, there were still six top prizes of $40,000 per year for 25 years available.
